Mr. Willie Ward a native of Toledo, Ohio & a 1984 graduate of Macomber-Whitney Vocational Technical High School. He is the proud father of 3 children, Willie, Jr., Mara & Morgan. In 1988, Mr. Ward received his Bachelor of Science degree from Defiance College majoring in Health/Physical Education K-12. In 2002 he received a Master of Education degree from University of Toledo, Department of Special Education, concentration in Severe Behavior/Autism. In 2009 he received a second Master of Education Administration & Supervision degree from BGSU. He has been with Toledo Public Schools for 28 1/2 years in positions of Coach, Teacher, Intern Consulting Teacher, Lead Alt. School Teacher, Dean of Students, Assistant Principal, & currently Principal of Martin Luther King Jr., Academy for Boys. Mr. Ward is presently & has been affiliated with many local organizations; (Y.M.O.E.) M.L.K. Jr., Academy for Boys Chapter, The Toledo Branch of the NAACP. He is an Executive Board Member-Toledo Association of Administrative Personnel, (CBTU), Prince Hall Masonic Lodge, Composite Lodge #108 F&AM, former board member-Toledo Board of Community Relations, Board of Directors, Toledo Federation of Teachers, Delegate Council-Ohio Federation of Teachers, Executive Board member-Toledo Area AFL-CIO, City of Toledo Board of Community Relations & a former Toledo Federation of Teachers Building Representative. Mr. Ward was the 2012 recipient of the African American Legacy Project, Emerging Leader Award.
